When sickness comes

When sickness comes, the thoughts of death is remembered
Sickness and disease are reminders
They are sent to remind us of our home exit
In your health and strength, prepare for your exit.

We remember God when our health fails us
Sickness and affliction reminds us so to number our days
God knows our weakness; He treats us with compassion
Apply wisdom as you prepare for your exit.

Consider God's mercy and patience towards you
He sends His words daily for your spiritual revival
Trials may come as you strive to embrace the light of God
You need prayer as you prepare for your exit.

Many people stronger and younger than you have flown into eternity
Remember, your own time is at the corner
You have been spared for years in danger
As death throws an arrow, cover yourself with prayers.

Thousands of your friends and neighbours have slumped
Sometimes, the arrows of death have hit your enemies and close relatives
Do not forget, your day is at the corner
Seek God's protection as you prepare for your exit.

Allow the goodness and forbearance of God to lead you
Seek refuge in the Eucharistic Jesus
Death may be terrible if it meets you unprepared
An unexpected death may bring a fearful change.

When sickness comes, you experience change:
a change from comfort to terror,
from pleasure to pain, from hope to despair
and from probabilities to an impossible state of survival.

Do not allow your expectations of hope cut off
Believe that you are in God's hands
For the sake of the passion of Jesus
You shall escape the danger of unprepared exit.
