A day to sing a new song

We have discovered something new today:
A song of faith and reliance
To help us recognise God every day
As we narrate God’s plan of redemption.
 
God sent an angel in our world
To help us identify and thank Him
That angel is you: mother, father, brother, sister, friend and neighbour
We depend on them for encouragement, assistance and direction.
 
Our world today is in distress
We need God’s intervention and support
To fulfil our mission and profess our faith in Him
Only Him can rescue us from sin and death.
 
God brought us the gift of His favour
He was conceived in Mary’s womb
He became flesh and dwelt among us
It is through Him and in Him that we implore God’s mercy.
 
Today is a day to chant a new song
Our Mother Mary has the music to the song
She composed the Magnificat before angel Gabriel
She helped Elizabeth to sing that song of praise.
 
Mary is the Queen of Peace
Through her, the Prince of Peace was born
Let us begin this New year by praying for peace:
God’s peace in our hearts, in our families, in our nation and in the world.
 
Prisca Onyinye Nwokorie is a  Roman Catholic Nun. She belongs to the religious order of “Oblates of St. Benedict Joseph Labre” in Italy. She is a graduate of the University of Bari where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Masters’ degrees in “Information and Communication Technologies for the Production of Software” and “Computer Science” respectively. Currently, she is carrying out research work on “E-learning for Developing Countries”.

About Sr Prisca Nwokorie
Prisca Onyinye Nwokorie is a Roman Catholic Nun in the Congregation of the Oblate Sisters of St Benedict Joseph Labre based in Italy. She is a writer and poet, with BSc. degree in “Information and Communication Technologies for the Production of Software”, and an MSc. degree in “Computer Science”, both obtained from the University of Bari in Italy. Presently, she is working towards creating a forum to promote e-learning in every field of life for the youths in underdeveloped countries.
