A desperate exercise of a failing power

Desperado is the new thing
They manifest it in every sphere
They wanted to have a grip of power
They have lost it.

I feel that God is watching everything
It is a mystery that change has come to stay
Truly, there is a need for revision
Fairness calls for a variety.

They have lost it in the East
They missed it in the West
The equally failed in the South
In the North, they are at a shock of what had befallen them.

The North they thought they had at the palm of their hand
has suddenly disappointed them
What belonged to all was put at the foot of the North
Yet, they were desperate for more.

The leadership of our nation became their heritage
They toyed with us
To them, we do not exist
Every power came from them.

Like a candle in the wind, the terrible death came
taking from what they felt they had power over
Life blew out of the almighty in charge
It was to them a season of vengeance.

For weeks they hid the truth from mankind
The eagle eye burst the bubble
In confusion, they ridiculed and berated her
but she affirmed she knew the secret.

They tried to cover the truth
They told the world lie believing they will do what they know how to do
Cloning, reproduction, duplicate and act-alike were the major things in their mind
Unexpectedly, the breath of life went out.

They are still planning, arranging and framing
To the hinterland, they are going
looking for who will fill the gap
a huge gap now exists.

They woke me up with a knock on my door
They promised me a position but the doors are secured
"Whose fingerprints are we going to use?", I ask
Their desperate search is evil.

The foreigners are here with their machines and technology to unlock the portal
Can you get the fingerprints of the dead?
Assuredly, it is becoming a problem
The puppet they kept there can't talk because they denied him.

Now, from door to door they are looking for a replacement
It is too late to cry when the head is off
My loyalty you can never get
Power, indeed, is fast slipping away from their hands.

They have caused a terrible disaster
They chose evil in their pursuit of self-fulfilment
They encountered the emptiness of power
Such emptiness carries a burden of a failing power.
