The Wisdom of Love

Wisdom has been proved right by all her children. The hidden wisdom is that which is hidden from the wise and revealed to mere children – the simple, the poor and the ignorant.

God is the pattern of real love. His wisdom to humanity is made visible in the creation of the universe. He willed and accepted every human person, made in His own image and love. Man has been destined from the origin of his existence to love, adore, serve, and worship God above all things and to love his neighbour as self. Shortly after, man’s human weakness made him disobey God’s command and was driven out of the garden in which God placed him. In this disappointment, God did not abandon man. He acknowledged oneness with every human heart made in His likeness. In that oneness of God’s love, the sun shed its light and warmth freely upon every creature, on the just and unjust, the good and the evil ones.

To love is to give without reserve. It is giving all, realizing the other with the gift and the forgetfulness of self. Love wins when it seems all is lost. From its proper lost, another is born, grow and reach itself, giving the joy of having accepted the gift. The thief who hung with Jesus on the cross asked Jesus that He might remember him in paradise; Jesus promised him eternal life. It was at the moment when all things seem to be lost that new life was born. Love has no limit. Let us love and pray for our enemies, after all, we made them our enemies.

Remember:

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you,
but because they are teaching you to love
and opening your heart and eyes to things
you would have never seen or felt without them.

By implication, love is beauty, a tested joy in life, accepting others as they are (without excluding their weaknesses and fragility). If we do not learn how to love ourselves, we will not be able to love God, let alone our neighbour. To be capable of that love that leads to pain and suffering, we need to be aware of God’s infinite love for us. There is no love greater than laying down one’s life for another. God has planted on our hearts the seed of love and He dwells in our heart like His own temple.

Love is the Lord. He hears each cry. No wounded heart will He pass by nor leave it desolate. For in His love He stoops to be at ONE in our misery. Love cast out fear. Love will bear and will forgive. Love will suffer long, die to self that she may live.

Love will triumph over wrong. Nothing can a true love destroy. She will suffer all with joy. From resentment, love will turn. When men hate, will bless. It is only bearing can beget strength to pardon and forget. Love must give and give. Love must die or share. Only so can true love live fruitful everywhere. God’s love plans our way of life. Let us trust Him leads us.
